On the brink of disaster, I can only think of music for our dear friend Sandy.
I personally do not have much room in my life for synthesizers, nor do find myself often craving indie pop. So why then, do I find myself constantly listening to Seattle’s Really Old Airplanes? I mean, really, beginning to end, on repeat. “Forgotten Sadly, And Broken Ends” contains songwriting and craftsmanship on a brilliant level. Each and every note serves to push the continuation of the record and worm their way into your fore-conscious. The album is full of endearingly tangled melodies, catchy, and whimsical in a way that totally doesn’t piss me off. I may never stop humming them, and I’m fine with that.
“Perennials” and “Brother” are two of my favorites.
You can hear Really Old Airplanes’ “Forgotten Sadly, And Broken Ends” on their bandcamp, and if you happen to be down at sxsw you can catch them at The Dizzy Rooster tonight.
UPDATE!
Well, The time has come once again for that wild and wonderful music industry conference we know as SXSW. Musicosis has teamed up with The MassiveCIA and Shoutz to provide some awesome coverage of the event. While I will try to blog as frequently as possible, you can find realtime updates by following me on twitter @fenderplyr9009
While we’re at it, I’d like to announce that I have begun managing emerging artist Giorgio Fareira and his band The Interstate Life. You can find out more about them here: www.theinterstatelife.com
Thanks!
Doc.

Jelani, an Up-and-coming Hip-hop artist from Harlem brings the art form back to its roots with old school samples and true to life lyrics with great flow.
Check out “De La Vega” and “Growing Pain’s,” two of my favorites.
Welcome back Van Halen… It’s been a while. Mr. Roth, looking hip and fresh.
The band unveiled a new single, ‘Tattoo’ at a secret club show on January 5th at the New York Cafe Wha?. After the performance, they announced a new album “A Different Kind of Truth” which comes out Feb. 7th and a 2012 tour.
This is the first time the band has had David Lee Roth as frontman since the bands 1996 MTV music video awards appearance. (wikipedia)
I’m certainly excited.

Ram’s Pocket Radio marries hard rock with pop piano singer/songwriter. Jack-of-all trades Peter McCauley is the genius behind it all. Frankly, Rams Pocket Radio puts Rock in Rachmininoff. Rams Pocket Radio is Accessible. I can almost guarantee you will at least tap your foot to his music. Check it out.
